When you walk down the fairways of Shirley Park
Golf Club it's hard to believe you are only
one mile from East Croydon Station. This is
because a parkland on one side and the wooded
Shirley Hills on the other flank our Surrey
countryside golf course.
Designed in 1913 by Tom Simpson and Herbert
Fowler, our generous fairways accommodate all
levels of handicap golfer and our undulating
greens are commented on very favourably by amateur
and professionals alike as being amongst the
best maintained in Surrey. The course snakes
through mature oaks and occasionally crosses
ravines, so club selection is always important
to get exactly the right distance. We have course
planners to give you the exact yardage and if
you're using a range finder you'll be pleased
to know that the course has been fully mapped
by SkyCaddie.
We have generous fairways and our rough will
penalise you with a restricted shot, not necessarily
a lost ball. Our greens are well watered, even
at the height (or should that be heat) of the
summer thanks to our own well next to our half-way
hut which has food and drink to sustain you
through the second half of your round.
We promise you 18 holes of challenging golf
followed by a professionally prepared meal in
our spacious dining room or you may want to
sit in the players bar and watch golf on the
large plasma TV. Please be aware of our course dress code
